Maximize Your Time in the Park

Skip circling parking lots and let our local guides take you directly to the park’s most iconic sights, ensuring you soak up insights on short walks and quick drives. You’ll explore must see destinations including Balanced Rock, The Windows Area, Double Arch, Delicate Arch Viewpoint, Wolfe Ranch, and Sand Dune Arch, all while enjoying stunning panoramas of the La Sal Mountains.

Arches Geology and Ecology: A Living Classroom

Arches National Park was shaped by the powerful forces of ancient oceans, tectonic activity, and erosion, which gave rise to more than 2,000 natural arches and hundreds of fins. Our guides bring this “Salt Tectonics” history to life, adding a layer of cultural depth by sharing evidence of Native American inhabitants and the arrival of early explorers.

The Desert Ecosystem: The ecology features a diverse desert environment where you’ll learn to spot:

  • Resilient Flora: Discover how plants like the prickly pear cactus, Utah juniper, and Stansbury’s cliffrose thrive in intense heat.
  • Wildlife: Keep your eyes peeled for mule deer, coyotes, bighorn sheep, and bird species like Pinyon jays and juniper titmice.
  • Cryptobiotic Soil: Learn why this “living skin” of the desert is the foundation for the entire ecosystem’s balance.

Tour Logistics & Departure Times

Whether you’re an early riser eager to catch the best morning light or prefer to watch the desert glow before dusk, we offer two daily departure times:

  • Morning Tour: Meets at our Moab office at 8:00 AM.
  • Afternoon Tour: Meets at our Moab office at 3:00 PM.
  • Duration: Approximately 4 hours from meet up to return.

Find Your Ideal Group Size

We offer two ways to see the park, depending on the level of intimacy you prefer. Both options include a guide and guaranteed park access.

  • Standard Tour (Up to 12 Guests): Our most popular and social way to see the park. Great for families and those looking to meet a few more fellow travelers.
  • Premium Tour (Up to 6 Guests): For those seeking a more intimate, semi private experience. With only 6 guests, you get more one on one time with your guide and a quieter, more personal pace.

Arches National Park Tour FAQs

When is the best time for a guided tour of Arches National Park?

Anytime from March through October offers a unique way to see the red rocks!

  • Spring & Fall: These months provide the most comfortable temperatures for the short walks and light hiking involved in our tours.
  • Summer: To beat the desert heat, our Morning Tours are ideal, as they allow you to explore the park during the Golden Hour when the light is soft and the air is fresh.

Pro Tip: Booking a guided tour means you do not need to secure a timed-entry reservation, making any time the “best time” to go without the logistical hassle!

Our Arches tours run daily from early spring through late autumn. We offer half-day morning and afternoon departures, and popular Multi-Adventure Packages. You can pair your park tour with a splashy morning raft trip on the Colorado River or a rugged Jeep tour through the Moab backcountry. Because we handle the park permits and entry logistics, these tours are the most reliable way to ensure you see the park’s highlights during your Moab vacation.

The minimum age for our Arches National Park tours is 5 years old. Our climate-controlled 15-passenger vans and easy-to-moderate strolls are designed to be family-friendly. Please note that Utah law requires car seats or boosters for children under 8 years old (or under 4’9″). To maintain a professional and secure environment, please bring the appropriate car seat or booster for use in our tour vehicles.

Our Arches tour transforms your visit from a “scenic drive” into an adventure. Our guests choose us to:

  1. Learn the “Why”: Our guides provide deep interpretive context on geology and history that you won’t find on trail signs.
  2. Avoid the Crowds: We know the rhythm of the park and prioritize stops at the most popular locations when they are easiest to access.
  3. Total Relaxation: You get to be a passenger in your own vacation. No maps, no traffic, and no parking stress.
