Mountain Biking options abound in Moab. With a nearly endless supply of singletrack it can be daunting to figure out where to start. Everyone’s pretty much in on the loop— ahaha!— about Moab’s world-class mountain biking. The terrain is naturally challenging and legitimately hyped. If it’s your first time in Moab with your bike, YEWW! Here are a few trails where one must immediately put your suspension to work.
While you’re getting ready to get loose out there, remember this is a raging oven of a landscape. Bring more water than you’d ever think necessary— it will be necessary. During the heat of the summer, it’s not a bad idea to start your rides in the early morning so that you can be finished by the time the heat of the day rolls around. And another thing, be prepared to make all the friends on these world-class runs filled with other trail lovers. See you on the rim!
This centrally located museum covers the rich history of the Colorado Plateau from the Jurassic Period, indigenous cultures, to colonize the area. A beautiful archive library, galleries, and artifacts make this an awesome way to spend an afternoon exploring Utah’s unique history.
This art gallery on Main has a beautiful collection of wind art, paintings, pottery, and sculptures. Stop in to peruse Southwestern-inspired pieces and handmade gifts along with traditional crafted fountains and furniture made by local artists.
Situated along the Colorado River in Castle Valley, this free exhibition sits below the Red Cliffs Lodge. Check out props and plenty of memorabilia from classic westerns that were filmed at this very location.
Utah is a paleontologist’s dream, and this outdoor exhibit beautifully depicts life-sized dinosaurs who called Moab home over 100 million years ago. Also, the museum offers a virtual underwater theatre revealing Utah’s creatures from ancient seaways and enormous lakes.
Hands-on experience is what this discovery center is all about offering adventures trips and interactive exhibits. The museum focuses on science, technology, engineering and math in innovative installations that will interest all ages.
