More About This Trip
Mild to Wild is proud to offer guided adventures on the Mountaintop Zipline in Buena Vista, Colorado, in partnership with our long-time, trusted outfitter, AVA Raft & Zipline. This half-day experience is designed for travelers who want big adventure without committing an entire day, making it a perfect addition to any mountain getaway.
Your adventure begins with a check-in and safety orientation before heading up into the high country above Buena Vista. From there, you’ll access a purpose-built aerial course set high on the mountainside, where panoramic views of the surrounding peaks and valleys set the stage for an unforgettable experience.
The course features a series of six ziplines connected by elevated platforms, towers, and aerial elements that keep the experience dynamic from start to finish. Each line is designed to build confidence while delivering increasing excitement, with varying heights, speeds, and lengths that showcase the natural terrain in a whole new way. As you move through the course, you’ll glide above forested slopes and open clearings, taking in sweeping views of the Arkansas River Valley and the surrounding Collegiate Peaks.
Beyond the ziplines themselves, the course incorporates fun and challenging features that add variety to the adventure. Sky bridges and elevated walkways keep you moving between lines while adding just the right amount of thrill and exposure. The layout makes the most of the mountainside setting, creating exciting transitions, gentle drops, and exhilarating rides that feel immersive and natural rather than manufactured.
One of the standout moments of the experience is the opportunity to fully take in the scenery between lines. Unlike shorter or more compact courses, this mountaintop setting allows for expansive views in every direction, making the journey between platforms just as memorable as the rides themselves.
No prior experience is necessary, and professional guides are with you every step of the way—handling all technical aspects, providing clear instruction, and ensuring a safe and enjoyable experience for all participants. This makes the Mountaintop Zipline a great choice for families, first-time zipliners, and groups looking to share an unforgettable outdoor activity.
Conveniently located near Buena Vista, the course is within easy reach of popular destinations like Salida, Leadville, and Summit County. It’s an ideal way to experience Colorado’s high-alpine environment from a completely new perspective.
For those looking to extend the adventure, the area is also home to some of the state’s most iconic whitewater on the Arkansas River. Pairing a zipline tour with a rafting trip creates a full day of excitement and showcases the best of what this region has to offer.

Our jeep trail tour in Silverton, Colorado was absolutely breathtaking. The scenery was unreal, the views were stunning, and the weather was perfect - it felt like a postcard the whole way through. Jay was an amazing guide. He was kind, patient, and incredibly thoughtful, making sure we had water and blankets when the cold rolled in. On top of that, he was super knowledgeable about the rocks, the history, and the entire area, which made the experience even more special. If you're visiting Silverton, definitely ask for Jay. He made our adventure unforgettable.Posted on Google Chris WallaceTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We had an amazing tour of Mesa Verde. Our tour guide, Jay Bird, did a great job narrating our trip. He made us all feel welcome and provided lots of great information about the history and sights we were seeing. He was clearly passionate about the park. The van we rode in was spotlessly clean, including the windows which made viewing easy. We will definitely be using Mild to Wild tours again.Posted on Google Megan ButlerTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Gavin was a phenomenal guide! We did the half-day morning kayak adventure and had a great time!! There was a nice combination of class I and II rapids with calm waters in between, allowing us to enjoy the views and take photos. Gavin was knowledgeable about everything we were seeing - he even pointed out rock formations, animals, etc. that we hadn’t known to look out for. Highly recommend asking for Gavin if you’re going on a river adventure through Mild 2 Wild - he will not disappoint!! You’ll have a hell of a good time and learn so much about the area!Posted on Google Bill RobinetteTrustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Cat was our tour guide.
