More About This Trip

Kayaking through Castle Valley is a great way to increase the level of adventure of a Colorado River excursion. This is a perfect option for those who want an active trip with a bit of a workout, as you’ll be paddling through both calm and splashy waters.

No experience is necessary, we just ask that you know how to swim when choosing this option. You’ll have a kayak guide to show you the ropes along the way as you spin, surf, and paddle downstream. Keep in mind that these crafts are inflatable kayaks, aka duckies, so there’s a lot of contact with the water!

The rapids on the Castle Valley stretch vary depending on which section you choose, but are usually friendly class I-II. The afternoon section typically has more rapids, while the morning section is more calm as we pass by Fisher Towers. On full day trips, you’ll get the whole kit and caboodle— with lunch!

On two day trips we’ll start a little further up the valley, camp on a beautiful beach along the way, and enjoy a few hours of the final stretch the second day. These overnight trips are a fully catered camping experience, and a great way to fully soak in the amazing area of the Colorado River.
