About This Trip
The best way to beat the heat is to blanch it! When Moab’s midday temperatures start to climb, an afternoon float trip on the Colorado River is exactly where you want to be.
This is the best way to see Moab’s towering red rock walls and the scenic beauty of Castle Valley. Long, calm water sections allow time to relax and soak in the scenery, and a few Class II rapid sections provide a well-deserved splash to cool off.
Those looking to get a great workout and more splashes should consider opting for an inflatable kayak for this trip!
Afternoon 1/2 day trips on the Colorado River start at $79.00.
- Perfect bucket list river trip and rated “Utah’s Best Family Rafting Trip”
- Picturesque scenery of Moab’s red rocks
- Fun & splashy class I-II rapids (a mild float with time to relax and swim)
- Big sandy beaches
- Wildlife: Birds of prey, big horned sheep, deer, cottontails
- Fun and informative river guides
- Time for games, swims, and relaxation

With Paddle Boats, typically used at low water, the guide just has a paddle and relies on you to help get through the rapids!

Just like the standard option, we use 15 foot self-bailing rafts with Oar or Paddle rig set up depending on water levels. You’ll just have less folks in the boat with you!

Our Client Reviews from Google
Kelly Cornelius2025-08-31Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Had a fun 1/4 trip over Labor Day weekend! Caleb was our guide and he was great. Hoping to do a multi day in Moab and will request him as our guide! Kim Webb2025-08-31Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. It was great, loved the jeep ride, we even saw a bear! I am so glad that we only did the train one way, it would have been a really long day if we had rode it both ways. It was really heard to pick the place to sit on the train trying to guess what the weather would be like, so far in advance. I wish we would have sat in the open air car , but I did see a lot of people standing up and may have blocked my view. Over all it was a great day!! Rusty Havener2025-08-30Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Lauren was an amazing guide... She was in charge and made us feel safe as well as having fun. 5 stars is not enough for her or the team Lacey Booth2025-08-29Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Did rafting today with Caleb as our tour guide. He is an epic guide and all though a short trip it was a lot of fun. How To Dress For Desert Rafting Trips – Protect Yourself From The Elements
Important Considerations
- Changing rooms and bathrooms are limited at our boatyard, so we encourage guests to come in their river getup beforehand!
- We sell small waterproof bags if you would like to bring some snacks for your trip. We recommend bringing a water bottle, and have water to refill it if needed. The water bottle and bag will sit in the bottom of the boat by your feet.
- Castle Valley is continuously being sculpted by wind, so expect these desert gales on your trip— particularly in the afternoon.
- The rapids in Castle Valley are mild and interspersed between long flat-water sections. If you want level up on the adventure and exercise, consider choosing your own destiny in an inflatable kayak!
- There are some logistics for the guides before and after your time on the water, so there’s some waiting involved. We appreciate your understanding in advance!
