We did the Lower Animas trip with our guide, Ben C. and had a wonderful time. Although the air was smokey from the fires, the river was clear and cold and as we went south the air cleared up, too. Couldn’t have been a better experience with our 9-year-old grandson. Running rapids (more like waterfalls), “surfing” the raft, jumping into the river from a rock… these are things we will remember.
